The company claims its SocketScan keyboard wedge software can send the RFID tag and/or bar code data to "any Windows application" as virtual keystrokes.
The combo CF card is available with either a Class 1 laser (model 6M) that is safe for patient-based applications in a health care environment, or a more powerful Class 2 laser (model 6P) for more demanding scanning requirements, says Socket.
The CF RFID Reader-Scan Card Series 6 is expected to be available September 12, 2005 priced at $729 (version 6M) and $799 (version 6P).
