Research in Motion (RIM) announced an agreement to offer "push-based" email and corporate data services to next generation Windows-powered mobile handsets being developed by Taiwan-based High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC). The capability will be provided via connectivity to RIM's BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

HTC gained widespread recognition through its design of the Orange SPV Smartphone, and partnered with Compaq in the design of the original iPAQ PDA (introduced in 2001).

RIM is best known for its BlackBerry mobile messaging devices.
