Cenuco will demonstate its remote video monitoring technology at next week's Supercomm 2005 tradeshow in Chicago. MobileMonitor allows Internet-connected video cameras to be securely accessed from anywhere in the world via Windows Mobile smartphones and Pocket PCs, according to the company.

MobileMonitor works with any Microsoft-supported USB camera attached to an Internet-connected Windows PC, according to Cenuco. In addition to the software, the company offers a package that includes a wireless camera and a USB base station with support for up to four cameras.

MobileMonitor is a combination of hardware, software, and a subscription service. The "Broadcaster" sends video in either PNG (Portable Network Graphics) or JPEG format over a broadband Internet connection to Cenuco's "Gateway". The Broadcaster software supports a range of frame sizes from 80 x 60 to 240 x 180, and frames rates from once every five seconds to five frames per second.

Subscribers can access the password-protected video stream at the Cenuco Gateway from any device running Cenuco's "Viewer" software, including Windows desktops and laptops, PDAs, and mobile phones. The Gateway supports multiple simultaneous viewers of the same video stream. In addition to supporting Windows Mobile smartphones and Pocket PCs, the Viewer also supports cellphones running J2ME, BREW, and I-Mode (DoJa).

MobileMonitor is available from a number of retailers including CompUSA, Smarthome, and MobilePlanet, according to Cenuco. Further details are available on Cenuco's MobileMonitor website.
