Featuring 512MB of RAM and 2GB of flash storage, it also offers a microphone and stereo speakers, plus an omnidirectional barcode scanner, according to Source Technologies.
The 312i also has a 10/100 Ethernet port plus keyboard and mouse ports. Beyond that, according to the company, a wide variety of upgrades is available, such as 802.11b/g wireless networking, an encrypted PIN entry pad, a three-track magnetic stripe reader (MSR), an LCD signature pad, and a thermal printer.
Optional scanner upgrades are offered, which Source Technologies says allow for easy in-store expansion and reconfiguration. Customers can choose from among a linear barcode scanner, an omnidirectional laser scanner, an omnidirectional imager scanner, a fingerprint scanner, and an RFID proximity reader.
