For even more robustness, however, the system can utilize CompactFlash cards installed in the integral CF Type II slot.

AR-ES0831FL mechanical diagramAnother key feature of the device for vehicular applications, according to Acrosser, is its built-in DC power supply, which accepts input voltages from 9 to 32 VDC and protects against voltage spikes. The system also provides an "OS shut down delay" function claimed to ensure that the system is powered down properly.
Additionally, heat-pipe technology enables the AR-ES0831FL to run without a fan and the motherboard is equipped with a completely sealed, dust-proof enclosure, Acrosser said.
