The latest in Stealth's line of "LittlePC" industrial computers, such as its circa-2007 LPC-350PCI, the LPC-625F is designed for industrial applications including process and discrete control, factory automation, human-machine-interface (HMI), data communications, shop floor, and machine control, says the Toronto-based company. The fanless, "noise-free" device measures 7.9 x 7.9 x 2.4 inches and is built with an extruded aluminum chassis that acts as a heat sink, says Stealth.

Stealth offers a choice of two Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the standard 2.26GHz P8400 or a 2.53GHz P9500. Either is mated with an Intel GGM45 northbridge and ICH9M southbridge, and supported with two DDR-2 SODIMM memory slots that accept from 1GB (standard) to 4GB of DDR-2 RAM.

The LPC-625F is equipped with an Intel 4500MHD graphics chipset, said to support 3D graphics with 16x9 capability, as well as HDCP, 1080p HD support, and dual displays. The multimedia experience is rounded out with a Realtek HD audio and a multi-use "Audio 6" port.

The LPC-625F is said to offer a shock-resistant 80GB 2.5-inch SATA HDD as standard, and a 500GB HDD and a solid-state drive (SSD) are available as options. In addition to the gigabit Ethernet port and optional WiFi, the computer is equipped with eight USB 2.0 ports (four front-facing), a serial port, plus DVI-I and HDMI video ports.

The ruggedized computer offers an operating range of 23 to 104 deg. F (-5 to 40 deg.C), and provides resistance to vibration and shock, says Stealth. Power input is said to range from 12V ~ 20V DC @ 7.5A ~ 4.5A (90W), enabling mobile use, says the company. The x86 computer offers support for Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded, Windows Vista, Linux, and QNX.
