Arcom says it has recently expanded its electronic and mechanical design team in Cambridge, England and is now actively recruiting additional staff for its Kansas City design center to support new Windows CE .NET opportunities.

During the last 6 months, Arcom has won several major contracts for standard and custom products including GPRS-enabled communication gateway systems (for asset monitoring), fan-less SBCs for truck-based information terminals, and its new XScale-based Viper boards for medical instrumentation and vehicle telematics. There has also been a sharp increase in the number of contracts for Design and Build services, with a notable design win for an XScale based handheld data logger for voting systems, the company says.
