Additionally, the company has established a dedicated area of its website devoted to its Windows Embedded support software.
(Click here for larger image of the AR-B1551)In its
Windows CE support offering, the company offers three executable Windows CE OS images, which support the following processors and SBCs:
- National Geode -- tested on the AR-B1551 and AR-B1565 SBCs
- ST Microelectronics STPC -- tested on the AR-B1423
- Intel Celeron or Via Eden -- tested on the AR-B1640, AR-B1651, and AR-B1672.
The executables include all necessary device drivers and allow for a user-defined logo image. Additionally, Acrosser says it can supply customized CE OS images at no cost for most of its SBC products, an effort meant to allow developers to get up and running quickly and focus on their applications instead of the underlying embedded OS. The cost for CE OS licenses ranges between $3 and $20.
For its
Windows XP Embedded offerings, Acrosser provides sample images that boot on the AR-B1551 and AR-B1651, using either a 256MB or 512MB CompactFlash card as the boot device. The pricing for XP Embedded licenses was not indicated on Acrosser's website.
Both of Acrosser's Windows Embedded webpages appear to provide reasonably clear instructions on how to download and install the images.
