According to Elanza, the ETI 7001's open architecture allows it to be easily deployed using standard RFC SIP protocols, thus avoiding proprietary technologies. The unit's design features dual processors -- a main processor, and a media coprocessor -- along with 256 MB of RAM, 128 MB of DiskOnChip flash storage, and 256 MB of additional flash.

Elanza lists the following key features for the ETI 7001:
        • 6.4-inch VGA (640 x 480) TFT LCD with touchscreen
        • 420K pixel static CCD camera -- automatic exposure and white balance
        • External video and audio outputs vis RCA jacks
        • SD memory card slot
        • 2 x USB ports, 1 serial port
        • 2 x 10/100 Ethernet
        • 1 x PSTN phone line (RJ11)
        • Cellphone-like keypad arrangement for data input
        • Multimedia -- Windows Media Player 9, MP3 player
        • Web browsing -- Internet Explorer 6.0
        • SIP communications:
          • Supports SIP v2.0
          • Interoperable with any RFC-compatible SIP device
        • Remotely programmable for upgrades and content display
Video capabilities of the ETI 7001, according to Elanza, include three-way video conferencing, Picture-in-Picture (PIP), and video recording to SD cards.

The ETI 7001 appears to be available now. Pricing was not disclosed.
