Windows XP Embedded tester Lynda Allen has been blogging recently about how to add features to Target Designer, the tool used for developing a customized Windows XP Embedded run-time image. Now, she's created an online video that will lead developers through the process.

"I've included my very first screen cast created with Camtasia Studio to demonstrate how to add extra file and registry resources to an image," Allen writes. "I have seen a number of other teams using screen casts to demonstrate functionality or otherwise highlight features in their products, so I thought I would give it a go."

Allen says she is eager to receive comments on the format and on other topics developers might like to see covered in brief video demos: "I'll work on recruiting members of the product team to jump on board and create their own screencasts!"

Allen's complete entry in the Windows XP Embedded team's blog can be found here.
