to Boling.
Along with the driver update, Boling submitted a Windows CE service called CamServ that streams webcam frames across a network. The CamServ directory also contains a managed PC-based app called RCamView that reads the streaming frames from CamServ and displays the webcam video on a PC. "This is an initial release, and may contain some bugs," he cautioned.
The Shared Source USB webcam driver is especially of interest to participants in the
Windows CE Shared Source software contest hosted by
WindowsForDevices.com, since it can be used either by itself or in conjunction with the Shared Source
DVR Engine. (The contest requires the use of either or both of these Shared Source software components.)
The updated driver and CamServ application are available for download at the USB WebCam Driver project's GotDotNet
workspace.
