Taiwanese single-board computer vendor Acrosser is shipping a small industrial PC that supports a variety of embedded Intel processors, including a 667MHz Core 2 Duo. The company claims its AR-ES0892 to be the world's smallest Core 2 Duo system with PCI and x16 PCIe expansion.

Acrosser says its AR-ES0892 offers reliable and powerful computing, superior graphical performance, multiple I/O configurations, and "most importantly a long product life support." The system targets video gaming machines, video lottery terminals, electronic signage, kiosks, and other embedded applications.

        The AR-ES0892 comes with a compact aluminum chassis described as "lightweight" and "ruggedized." It measures 12.2 x 8.27 x 3.14 inches (310 x 210 x 80 mm).

The AR-ES0892 appears to have a socketed motherboard, or to be orderable with a choice of processors clocked up to 667MHz. Available options include Intel's Core 2 Duo, Core Duo, Core Solo, and Celeron M.

The AR-ES0892's front-side bus speed is 533MHz, and a pair of SoDIMM slots support up to 4GB of dual channel 667/533 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.

I/O includes a wealth of standard PC I/O, expandable via a 32-bit, 33MHz PCI slot, and a separate PCIe x16 expansion slot.

Additional touted features and specs include:
        • Intel 945GM chipset
        • VGA and DVI video output, support dual display
        • 6 x RS232, 8 x USB2.0, 1 x 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, Watchdog Timer, more
        • Anti-shock drive bay for 2.5-inch SATA or ATA HDD
        • Bootable CompactFlash Type II Slot
        • Optional LVDS & TV output functions
        • Equipped with 120W ATX PSU (110~240V AC input)
        • CE, FCC Class A safety compliance
The AR-ES0892 runs Windows CE, Windows XP and XP Embedded, and Linux. Additionally, it supports the Trusted Computing Group's "Trusted Platform Module" (TPM) specification, Acrosser says.
