The unit weighs 2.2 lbs, is less than one inch thick, and sports an 8.4 inch SVGA display with a 120 degree viewing angle. It runs a 1.20GHz Ultra Low Voltage 753 Pentium M processor with 256 MB of RAM.
Motion's optional View Anywhere display enhances indoor and outdoor viewing, the company says. The proprietary technology offers a 10:1 reduction in unwanted reflectance and glare, 15 percent improvement in "light pass-through" efficiency and 225 percent increase in sunlight contrast ratio over the standard display.
The LS800 includes a built-in fingerprint reader and an embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for hardware-protected encryption, and digital certificate storage for authentication and secure e-mail applications. As an additional security precaution, the device's wireless communication ports -- WiFi, Bluetooth and IrDA -- can be disabled at the BIOS level, according to the company.
