VoiceSignal has introduced what it says is the first available download of its "one-step" voice command speech for Windows Mobile-based smartphones, specifically the Motorola MPx220. The VSuite 2.0 speaker-independent speech software is an upgrade to the version 1.3 package bundled with MPx220 phones, according to the company.

VoiceSignal says the new version of VSuite simplifies the structured dialogue interface by allowing the user to make a single natural command to dial a number, dial or lookup contacts, or launch applications installed on the MPx220. It also supports text message addressing with a single "send text to" command. The company emphasizes that its speaker-independent application requires no training, and any contacts added to the phone's contact list or SIM card are automatically voice enabled.

VoicSignal claims its speech recognition software is available for twelve languages, and shipping on tens of millions of units ranging from entry-level, voice-centric handsets to enterprise-class PDAs and smart phones. VSuite 2.0 for the Motorola MPx220 is available from Handango for just under $20.
