The Action Engine Mobile Application Platform implements a browserless, client/server approach to accessing transaction-oriented online services from mobile devices. The company says that the technology's interface makes it easier for users to perform tasks such as creating offline requests for content, retrieving content over the network, saving content for future offline reference, and sharing content.

Action Engines is aiming the Mobile Application Platform at mobile operators that want to deliver "compelling" data services to enterprise mobile device users. The company offers a set of developer tools that enable its customers to define the look-and-feel of the device launch screen, menus, and sub-menus. The company says that the technology is particularly attractive to mobile operators, because its user interface tends to drive increased data usage by "elevating and organizing the presentation of services in a user-friendly and customizable format."

Visitors to Action Engine's CES booth can receive a free 90-day trial of "Brand-n-Go", a turnkey mobile applications pack comprising nine popular mobile applications built on the Action Engine Mobile Application Platform. Brand-n-Go gives mobile device users easy access to keyboard- and network-intensive content from leading providers, including Associated Press, Microsoft MapPoint, eBay, Fox Sports, and Amazon.com.
