        Software lets i-mate Pocket PCs access desktop PC data

        i-mate USA has launched a software package that lets i-mate Pocket PC users remotely access their desktop PCs over WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EV-DO, 3G, and Edge wireless networks. 1-View supports i-mate Pocket PCs running Windows Mobile 2003 SE Pocket PC or Windows Mobile 5.0, according to the company.

        According to i-mate, 1-View allows users to:
        • Wirelessly access files on all their PCs from any i-mate device
        • Upload files and data from their i-mate device to a PC
        • Download documents, music, photos, and videos from any PC to an i-mate device
        • Instantly access their digital photo collections from anywhere, anytime
        • Access a home PC from a laptop at work, or a laptop at work from a home PC
        • View a device bar showing all connected PCs and mobile devices, and a unified listing of all files
        The software's menus provide a unified listing of all files and a device bar that shows all connected PCs and mobile devices.

        "We are in an era of mobility, and 1-View is a milestone for consumers and business users who want to be able to access their documents, data and media files whenever they want from wherever they are," said Jon Driscoll, president of i-mate USA. "1-View brings together a persons digital life under one mobile umbrella."

        1-View is available from the 1-View website for $89.99, according to i-mate.
