[Updated 3:15pm PDT] -- Spb Software House, a Russian developer of Pocket PC software, has released the results of its latest survey conducted last month among Pocket PC users. Among the more interesting results is the gender gap among Pocket PC users: 94 percent male vs. 6 percent female, with an average age of 35.5.

Perhaps not surprising, the top occupation of Pocket PC users is "computer related (software)" (17 percent), followed by a tie between "engineering" and "student" (9 percent each). Also not surprising, 80 percent of users play games on their Pocket PCs and have an average of four games installed.

Other noteworthy results from the survey include:
        • 57 percent of the respondents use HP iPAQ Pocket PCs, with the next highest brand at just 15 percent (Dell Axim)
        • SD card expansion is most common (82%), followed by CompactFlash (45%) and MMC (10%).
        • The most popular storage card capacity is 256MB
        • The most important feature in choosing a Pocket PC is processor performance, followed by weight/size, battery life, and built-in WiFi
11,764 respondents completed the 75-question survey between Sep. 6 and Sep. 17. 32 percent of the respondents said they live in the US, with The Netherlands and Russia tied for second place at 8 percent each.

Spb has posted the detailed survey results on its website.
