Resembling an earlier-generation Apple iMac, the Vita 2000 (above) has a 20-inch display with a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels, Tangent says. This is accompanied by a resistive touchscreen that includes two-finger multitouch capabilities and is designed to operate with the included copy of Windows 7, the company adds.
The Vita 2000 is said to provide "an enhanced multimedia experience" through its inclusion of a Nvidia Ion GPU (graphics processing unit). Other media-centric functionality includes a DVD reader/writer, an HDMI output, and an S/PDIF optical digital audio output, according to Tangent.
The Vita 2000 also includes six USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, a VGA output, a gigabit Ethernet port, plus a microphone input and headphone jack, the company says. Wireless networking (802.11b/g/n) is optional, and presumably consumes the available Mini PCI Express slot that is also cited.
According to Tangent, the VITA 2000 has a 1.3 megapixel webcam and four-in-one card reader. Processing power is said to be supplied by a choice of dual-core Pentiums, either the 2.1GHz T4300 or 2.3GHz T4500, with an unspecified chipset. The system accepts up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM and uses a 2.5-inch hard disk drive that can be up to 2TB in size, the company adds.
