        Thin clients support multiple displays, run Windows XPe

        Wyse Technology has introduced a new thin client family based on Windows XP Embedded (XPe) and featuring built-in support for dual displays.         In addition to their built-in dual-display support, the G-class thin clients can be expanded to support four displays through the use of third-party display adapters such as those available from Matrox, ATI, and others, Wyse says. Other expansion options include CD-ROM and hard drive bays.

        Wyse lists the following key features and specifications for the G-class thin client:
        • Processor -- Via C7 Eden, unspecified clock rate
        • Memory -- 256 MB DDR2 RAM; 512 MB flash
        • Display:
          • Integrated Via UniChrome Pro AGP graphics with MPEG-2 decoder
          • one each VGA analog and DVI-D digital connector
          • VESA monitor support with Display Data Channel (DDC) for automatic setting of resolution and refresh rate
          • max. resolution:
            • single monitor -- 1920 x 1080 x 32-bit color @ 60Hz
            • dual monitor -- 1280 x 1024 x 32-bit color @ 60Hz
        • I/O ports:
          • 10/100 Ethernet
          • four USB 2.0 (2 front, 2 back)
          • serial port, DB9
          • bi-directional parallel port, DB25
          • IDE/ATA connector for adding local storage, CD-ROM or HDD
          • audio -- line in, line out, mic in jacks
        • Expansion:
          • PCI slot
          • drive bays for HDD and CD-ROM
        • Wireless -- optional USB 802.11a/b/g adapter
        • Dimensions -- 11.9 x 11.4 x 2.7 inches (300 x 290 x 68 mm)
        Availability

        G-Class thin clients are available on a "limited basis" immediately, with full volume expected in the first quarter of next year, according to Wyse. Pricing was not disclosed.
