BlueShark Technologies has announced its second new thin client configuration within a week, which is also the second in the company's 5-member Apriza 5000 family to run Windows Embedded. "Configured for speed," the Apriza 5600 has a smaller memory complement than its predecessor, and runs Windows CE 5.0, rather than...

Based on a 1 GHz Via C3 embedded processor and equipped with 128 MB DRAM and 64 MB of IDE flash memory, the 5600 provides a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports, two serial ports, a parallel port, PS2 keyboard/mouse, audio in/out, and both VGA and DVI ports for interfacing displays. Provision for I/O expansion is twofold: a PCMCIA slot, and an internal PCI slot. Wireless interfaces can be added via USB, PCMCIA, or PCI, the company says.

The Apriza 5600 supports ICA Version 8.33 and RDP Version 5.2 communications protocols, and includes Internet Explorer 6.0 browser for accessing the Web. The device's internal software can be upgraded via FTP, and the company also provides ePro Manager remote management software.

        The device measures approximately 9.3 x 2.1 x 11.5 inches.

Further details are available from the company's website.
