(Click here for larger image)The PicoMOD1 will be offered with a 300 or 400 MHz Samsung ARM9 processor, 32 MB of RAM, and 32 MB of Flash, according to F&S.
The display interface supports a wide range of STN, CSTN, and TFT LCD displays with resolution up to 640x480, according to the ocmpan. Four- and five-wire touchscreens are also supported.
Other I/O interfaces include three serial ports, two USB (host and device) ports, I2C, and Ethernet (optional), according to F&S. SD card slot interface signals are also provided.

PicoMOD installed on its evaluation baseboardThe PicoMOD interfaces to custom baseboards through an 80-pin connector. The company offers an evaluation baseboard that is intended to simplify development (shown above). The baseboard provides connectors for all of the PicoMOD's I/O interfaces, and also includes RS232 and Ethernet drivers, as well as an SD card slot.
The module is expected to be available for first customer shipments during May with Windows CE 5.0, and during Q3 or Q4 of this year with embedded Linux, a company spokesman said. The modules are expected to sell for less than 100 Euros in quantities greater than 100, by the end of 2006.
