Jungo announced that the latest version of its tool for simplified PCI and USB driver development now supports devices running Windows CE 5.0.

According to Jungo, other enhancements included in the latest release of WinDriver 6.22 for Windows CE include:
        • Improved Plug-and-Play support
        • Samples: All samples completely support Platform Builder
        • Improved interrupt latency
        • USB: Significantly improved isochronous handling for USB 1.1 and 2.0
        • USB: Support permanent registration of USB devices in the registry
WinDriver is described as a multi-platform toolkit that aims to simplify the development of device drivers for PCI (including CardBus, PMC, PCI-X, CompactPCI, etc.) and USB, and supports Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET development environment. No knowledge of OS internals or kernel-level programming is required, according to Jungo.

Free "full-featured," 30-day evaluation versions of Jungo's driver development tools are available for download from Jungo's web site.
