Earlier this year,
VLI announced that it had extended its "Pocket Gphone" IP telephony support to Windows CE .NET based devices, and made a beta download of the CE .NET version available on its website. At that time, VLI also announced Pocket Gphone 2.0, which supports devices running Pocket PC 2002.
VLI says its VoIP support enables real-time, two-way voice communications through IP-PBX's and other enterprise server products via its SIP and 802.11b compatibility with 50 ms latency. Communications options available include PDA-to-PDA, PDA-to-PC, and PC-to-PC voice communication using either the Internet or a private network.
According to VLI, the company's GphoneOnline.com service combines with PocketGphone to convert the Toshiba e800/805 into a device that can make calls from the convenience of public hotspots and Wi-Fi environments worldwide. VLI claims to be the world's leading wireless VoIP service provider.
