The R2H runs Windows XP Tablet PC edition with TouchPak software on a 900 MHz Celeron ULV processor, and is equipped with 256 MB of DDR2 DRAM standard, expandable to 768 MB. Storage capacity of its internal 1.8-inch hard disk ranges from 20 to 60 GB.

Additional specifications listed by Asus include:
        • 7-inch WXGA (800x480) screen driven by the company's "Splendid Video Intelligent Engine"
        • 802.11a/b/g WiFi
        • Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR (enhanced data rate)
        • Built-in fingerprint reader
        • Built-in GPS receiver with folding antenna
        • High-resolution webcam
        • SD card reader
        • 3 USB ports
        • Dimensions -- 9.21 x 5.24 x 1.10 inches (234 x 133 x 28 mm)

The built-in fingerprint scanner is part of an "exclusive" ASUS Security Protect Management (ASPM) capability, according to the company. The scanner maximizes accuracy by reading from the live layer of the skin, bypassing common skin surface conditions. Users can choose to set up multi-factor authentication requirements for different security levels, yet still have the convenience of single-sign-on (SSO) one-time login without compromising security.
