Korean company U-Pop has introduced a hard-drive equipped ultra-mobile PC (UMPC) that runs Windows CE 5.0 Professional. The U485 has a 4.8-inch touchscreen display that pivots upwards to reveal a 61-key keyboard.

Unlike the majority of portable Windows CE devices, but like the recently introduced Cowon Q5W portable media player (PMP), the U485 comes with an internal hard disk drive, offered in either 30GB or 60GB capacities. The device is being positioned as a PMP as well as a productivity device; U-Pop not only emphasizes the U485's compatibility with audio/video file formats, but has apparently crafted a user interface (UI) that resembles Windows Vista and provides quick access to multimedia.

The 4.8-inch display offers 800 x 400 resolution, while other hardware features include built-in WiFi and a DMB tuner. The U485 can also record video in either NTSC or PAL formats via its composite and S-Video inputs, according to the company.

Software includes the typical bundle of Office Mobile Applications, such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel. The device also includes Korean dictionary functionality, U-Pop says.

The company did not disclose the processor used by the U485, nor how much RAM the device has. However, other specifications provided by the company include:
