Mini-ITX isn't just for hobbyists anymore. Annual growth rates of over 30 percent have helped Mini-ITX "cross the chasm" of acceptance in the embedded community, according to a WindowsForDevices.com article that summarizes the birth, evolution, and current state of mini-ITX as a form-factor for...

        embedded applications.

The article, written by Roland Groeneveld, the founder of mini-ITX specialist Logic Supply, lays out where mini-ITX came from, surprisingly harsh environments where it's been deployed, and where it's going (such as nano-ITX). Also included, is a handy illustration that depicts the relative sizes of several popular embedded form-factors.
