(Click here for larger image)The CV30 is based on a 520 MHz Intel PXA270 XScale processor, and is equipped with 128 MB of SDRAM and 128 MB of DiskOnChip flash. The device measures 7.45 x 6.95 inches, and targets both vehicle-mounted applications -- such as fork lifts -- and stationary applications. A heated display enables it to withstand cold outdoor environments.
According to Intermec, the CV30 is the first fixed-mount computer to offer a choice of Windows Mobile 5.0 or Windows CE 5.0. The device also includes the company's TE2000 terminal emulation pre-installed, said to facilitate easy integration with legacy applications.

Intermec calls the CV30 the core of its RFID-enabled "Forklift of the Future concept" intended to turn forklifts into real-time communications hubs capable of "dramatically increasing warehouse efficiency and productivity." It offers two styles of vehicle mounting, as well as a desktop mount for work-in-progress and other stationary applications, and a wall-mount option for time and attendance applications.
The CV30 will be available worldwide beginning September 15. Price was not disclosed.
