        Vibren announces $1.2M worth of embedded development contracts

        Vibren Technologies announced that it has secured more than $1.2 million in embedded development business opportunities. Vibren said the agreements with the customers do not allow the customer names to be disclosed, but that the $1.2M worth of new projects include .

        • A leading supplier of personal computers and peripherals has chosen Vibren to develop a new thin client product running Windows CE.

        • A world supplier of digital TV system-on-chip solutions has contracted Vibren to provide software development for a set-top box reference design.

        • A retail distribution company has selected Vibren to port their application from the PalmOS to PocketPC.

        • A Global leader in the automotive and industrial controller market has engaged Vibren to develop Windows CE board support packages (BSPs).
        Vibren is an engineering development and services company formed by NEC in January 2000 as a wholly owned subsidiary, with specialties in embedded system development areas including firmware and driver development, testing and quality assurance, and system integration, and with an increasing focus on support for Microsoft's Windows CE .NET and XP Embedded operating systems, the company said. The company is a gold-level member of Microsoft's Windows Embedded Partner (WEP) program.
