Microsoft's "Channel 9" website has posted an extensive video interview with members of the Microsoft Robotics Studio team demonstrating various aspects of Robotics Studio and discussing the latest innovations in the Concurrency and Coordination Runtime (CCR), Visual Programming Language (VPL), and simulation, among...

        other topics.

George Chrysanthakopoulos, co-developer of the CCR at the core of Robotics Studio, discusses the philosophy behind CCR and its companion technology, Decentralized Software Services (DSS).

Paul Roberts demonstrates debugging VPL applications on the robot used at this year's MEDC Sumo Robotics competition.

Kyle Johns debugs a ball-finding algorithm in a graphical soccer robotics simulation, and goes on to show off a sumo simulator.

The discussion gets more speculative when Henrik Nielsen, the other co-developer of CCR and DSS, joins in to talk about giving robots RSS feeds. So, how far away are we from Terminator?

The interview wraps up with Chrysanthakopoulos illustrating some subtle aspects of CCR with real code.

The hour-long video naturally breaks down into four segments. Links are available for parts 1 and 2, as well as the full unedited video. Unfortunately, separate segments for parts 3 and 4 are not yet available.
