        WE-DIG Seattle to discuss location-based programming

        At the next monthly meeting of the Windows Embedded Developers Interest Group (WE-DIG), Steve Lombardi, Microsoft's MapPoint Technical Evangelist, will discuss the recently released MapPoint Location Server.


        He is also expected to preview Caravel, a product that has not previously been discussed publicly. Caravel is Microsoft's next generation mapping and navigation application for Windows Mobile.

        Also on the agenda is an introduction to Microsoft's Smart Personal Objects Technology (SPOT). Donald Thompson, a Microsoft architect, will provide insights into the SPOT system design and software implementation.         The WE-DIG Seattle meeting will be held in the Quinalt Room, Building 34 on the Microsoft Redmond Campus starting at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
