Microsoft has announced a free public webinar that will explore the growing use of Windows Embedded technologies within enterprises. The event, titled "Windows Embedded Opportunities in Enterprise Organizations," will be held on June 28 at 1:00 PM PDT.

According to Microsoft, devices based on its Windows Embedded platforms -- which include Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, and Windows Embedded for Point of Service (aka "WEPOS"), are increasingly being used by enterprises "to help improve efficiencies while driving down costs."

Participants in the webinar will learn how enterprises can decrease costs and increase efficiencies through the use of various devices that incorporate Microsoft's Windows Embedded platforms, such as handheld inventory scanners, ordering terminals, point-of-sale systems, ATMs, and others, Microsoft said. The webinar will also point out ways in which Microsoft's Windows Embedded platforms can be "key drivers for enterprise adoption of Microsoft server, services, and application products," adds Microsoft.

The webinar's presenter will be Jason Demeny (pictured above), a Group Product Manager for Windows Embedded in Microsoft's Mobile and Embedded Devices Group.
