DevkitIDP reference platform as part of its
acquisition of Vibren Technologies earlier this year. According to Bsquare, the platform targets designs such as PDAs, Web pads, set-top boxes, Internet audio/video devices, kiosks, and point-of-sales/service (POS) products.
The platform includes an integrated LCD screen, touch panel, and keyboard. It also boasts a long list of input/output interfaces, including: Ethernet, USB host and function ports, IrDA, consumer IR, RS-232 serial, AC'97 audio, and a JTAG connector. Two PCMCIA/CompactFlash expansion slots are available via an adapter.

(Click image for larger view)The new BSP ships in binary form with the DevkitIDP and is available as a free upgrade to those customers using the current Windows CE 5.0 release, according to Bsquare. For customers using the DevkitIDP with earlier Windows CE releases, an upgrade to the latest Windows CE 5.0 BSP is available for $595.
