The SP1 download page notes that although substantial effort was invested to ensure backward compatibility in Vista, some enhancements -- such as User Account Control, changes to the networking stack, and the new graphics model -- behave differently in Vista than in previous versions of Windows, and the differences happen to impact the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 toolkit. The SP1 update helps addresses areas of the CE 6.0 toolkit impacted by Windows Vista enhancements, the company said.
Other features in SP1, according to Microsoft, include support for eXDI hardware debugging, plus a variety of bug fixes.

Loh also cautions that when running under Vista, VS2005, and many of the remote tools, if they're run separately they must be run as Administrator.
