The SmartMate-2D uses the same physical package, but substitutes a 2D imaging system for the RF13's RFID reader and 1D scanner. The 2D imager can be used to capture signatures as well as read all standard matrix bar codes.
Both devices incorporate 802.11b WiFi and Bluetooth wireless, and are sealed against dust and water to the IP65 environmental standard.
