Intrinsyc says that version 1.0 incorporates several significant new third party-supplied features:
        • Handwriting recognition
        • Voice dialing
        • Games
        • A "comprehensive list" of optimized audio and video codecs for multimedia playback
Soleus includes a full suite of development tools including a Windows CE 5 adaptation kit and board support package (BSP), a software development kit (SDK), and the "UX Designer" plug-in for Visual Studio 2005. According to Intrinsyc, UX Designer is a tool for creating and editing portable user interface schemes.

In a statement, Intrinsyc's CEO Glenda Dorchak touted the production release of Soleus as "an important step in our commitment to deliver an innovative software platform for the development of next generation converged communications devices. The timely release of version 1.0 is critical to support our current and future licensees in their plans to deliver feature-rich handheld devices to the marketplace as the services of 3G networks begin to ramp up."

Over the course of the past year, Intrinsyc has announced several potential licensing deals for Soleus. These include Taiwanese ODM Wistron, Ginwave Technologies, and Cellon International. The latter two are both based in Shenzhen, China. In August Freescale Semiconductor's Wireless Developer Network recognized Soleus as its "Partner Software Solution of the Year."
