(Click here for larger image)The device is based on a 300MHz Intel PXA-255 XScale processor equipped with 32MB of RAM. Maps and directions are displayed in landscape view on a 3.5-inch TFT touch screen LCD in both 2D and 3D. The map database resides on a 256 MB SD/MMC storage card that holds selected regions downloaded from a USB-attached CD-ROM drive.

The built-in navigation software provides both verbal and visual real-time directions to selected destinations, and appears to be identical to the MioMap software in the recently introduced
168RS Pocket PC with GPS. The database is said to include "millions" of points of interest, including restaurants, lodging, gas stations, airports, and more.
The Mio 136 is available now, at a "suggested retail price" of $499. The company's
website lists several Internet retailers that carry the device.
