Innov-X Systems used an HP iPAQ PDA running Windows CE to implement the user interface for controlling its Portable XRF (X-ray fluorescence) Analyzer. The instrument is used for performing on-the-spot, "point-and-shoot" elemental analysis of materials, in applications such as environmental testing, alloy analysis, and mining.
