        Windows CE tablet features integrated barcode scanner option

        Hoeft & Wessel has introduced a new member of its family of Windows CE-based slate-style tablets. The third generation skeye.pad XSL features built-in Wi-Fi and barcode scanner options, and is ideally suited for mobile data capture, according to the Germany-based company.

        The skeye.pad XSL runs Windows CE 4.2 on a 400 MHz Intel PXA255 XScale processor, and the device includes up to 256 MB of SDRAM and 1 GB of Flash memory. A Silicon Motion SM501 graphics accelerator with 8 MB of video RAM provides sufficient performance for video streaming and other multimedia applications, according to Hoeft & Wessel.

        The company lists the following key features and specifications for the skeye.pad XSL:
