(Click here for larger image)The TPC-2012 is based on a 500 MHz AMD GX3 LX800 processor, and is equipped with 256 MB of DDR SDRAM. The unit's Windows CE 5.0-based software platform comes pre-installed in a 128 MB CompactFlash module. The device measures 12.2 x 9.3 x 2 inches, and its 12.1-inch TFT LCD touchscreen is protected to NEMA4/IP65, according to NI. Interfaces include:
- 10/100 BaseT Ethernet
- 2 x USB 2
- 4 serial -- 3 RS232; 1 RS232/422/485
- PS/2 keyboard and mouse
The TPC-2012 works with the Labview 8.20 Touch Panel Module and includes one Touch Panel Deployment license, according to NI. Additionally, because the Touch Panel Module supports Labview's shared variables, data can be shared among various types of devices, including real-time controllers like PXI, Windows CE HMI devices like the TPC-2012, and devices supplied by third-party vendors such as
Advantech, according to NI.
The TPC-2012 also comes with a number of preinstalled configuration and remote access utilities. According to NI, these include an IP address configurator, configuration for FTP and other utilities over a web server, and "Remote Display," which works in conjunction with the Windows CE Remote Display Host application, allowing remotely control the TPC-2012 from a host PC.
Advantech market development manager Mike Berryman stated, "Labview 8.20 provides an ideal environment for developing both HMIs and control or data acquisition logic for programmable automation controllers," said "The new Labview Touch Panel Module allows Advantech customers using our Windows CE-based industrial platforms to create HMIs with the ease of use of Labview."
The TPC-2012 is immediately available, with prices starting at $1,999, according to NI.
