(Click here for a larger view of the ZJ-PMP-PC)Though details provided by the company were few, the device has a 4.3-inch screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is said to support video in a variety of formats -- such as .AVI, .WMV, .ASF, 3GPP, DivX, and H.264 -- without the use of conversion tools.
Implying that the device comes with Windows CE 5.0 Professional -- the Windows XP OS suggested by the company's photo above is definitely not included -- Shenzen Zhuangjia says users can view and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents directly. Adobe's PDF file format is also said to be supported.
According to the company, the device provides USB host and device interface functions. In particular, its USB device port compatibility enables connection of an external keyboard and mouse to the ZJ-PMP-PC. Additionally, a built-in speaker and microphone are said to support VoIP software such as Skype.
Finally, the device has two keypads that appear to act both as function keys and game controller. In this, it resembles the
Newman VX1000 introduced in August. Said to support games written in Adobe Flash, the VX1000 is bundled with an 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) emulator.
Shenzhen Zhuangjia provided no pricing or availability information for the ZJ-PMP-PC, except to say that orders are being taken now. More information may become available on the company's website,
