According to an abstract published by
ESC's organizers, Dallas will focus on "Connected Experiences." Today most Internet users are still people, he writes, but tomorrow the Internet will be dominated by "billions of intelligent devices operating on behalf of people and institutions."
According to Dallas, this shift will create new business models and opportunities for OEMs, enterprises, and service providers. The keynote -- to be delivered 1 PM on Thursday, September 20th -- will "describe the challenges and opportunities of this new world, and how Microsoft and our partners are working to make Windows Embedded the platform of choice."
In his present position, Dallas is responsible for the product planning and management of all of the Windows Embedded product lines. He has held a number of other positions since joining Microsoft in May 1995, including senior director of Strategic Alliances, director of the product management group for Windows Mobile Devices, group product manager for Windows CE, and group product manager for Windows.
Set for Sept. 18-21 in Boston, the Embedded Systems Conference is the East Coast version of the semiannual conference staged by CMP for embedded developers. It will feature an expo, more than a dozen conference tracks, and "
live teardowns" of a Toyota Prius and other devices.
