        Windows Embedded live chats coming this fall

        Another round of Windows Embedded "live chats" is coming up on Microsoft's MSDN developer site this fall. The chats typically last an hour, and cover topics such as Windows CE 5.0 and the new CE 6 beta, "smart device" programming, and the .NET Compact Framework.




        Each chat is hosted by one or more "Microsoft experts," according to the company.

        The current schedule with descriptions follows:
        • Windows CE 5.0 and CE 6 Beta Live Chat!
          Dates:
          • August 30, 9 to 10 A.M.
          • September 27, 9 to 10 A.M.
          • October 25, 9 to 10 A.M.
          • November 29, 9 to 10 A.M.
          • December 20, 9 to 10 A.M.
          Description: "Looking for straight answers to your tough technical questions about Windows CE 5.0? Tap into the deep knowledge of the talented Microsoft Embedded Devices Group members in this live chat covering the tools and technologies used to develop devices using the Windows CE 5.0 operating system." The chat will also cover tools and technologies in the beta release of CE 6.

        • Smart Device Programming with Visual Studio .NET 2005
          Date:
          • September 12, 10 to 11 A.M.
          Description: "The .NET Compact Framework brings the world of managed code and XML Web services to smart devices, and enables the execution of secure, downloadable applications on devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs), mobile phones, and set-top boxes. Please join the members of the .NET Compact Framework and Visual Studio product groups in this chat regarding the .NET Compact Framework and the Smart Device Programming features of VS.NET."

        • MVP chat: Device Application Development with Visual Studio 2005
          Dates:
          • October 10, 10 to 11 A.M.
          • December 12, 10 to 11 A.M.
          Description: "Join us for this live online chat with some of our Device Application Development MVPs! This chat will cover the .NET Compact Framework and the Smart Device Programming features of Visual Studio. If you target your applications for Windows Mobile or Windows Embedded devices, please attend and bring along your Smart Device Framework questions also as OpenNETCF will be well represented."
