The Pro|Edge thin clients are available with an 533MHz or 800MHz AMD Geode, or with an unspecified 1GHz processor. The Windows CE versions come standard with 128MB of RAM and 64MB of flash memory, while the Windows XP Embedded models start with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of flash. On most models RAM is expandable to a gigabyte and flash to 8 GB. Windows XP Embedded is not offered on the version of the device with an 533MHz processor.

Other specifications and features listed by I-O include:
        • Display:
          • on 800MHz processor version -- 1920 x 1440
          • on others -- 1600 x 1200
          • VGA out, DVI available with option VGA to DVI adapter
        • I/O ports:
          • 10/100 Ethernet
          • 4 x USB2.0 (2 on front; 2 on rear)
          • audio -- mic in, speaker out
          • PS/2 keyboard and mouse
        • Keyboard options:
          • 102-key PC layout
          • 122-key IBM 5250 layout
        • Dimensions -- 6 x 5.3 x 1.5 inches (152 x 135 x 38 mm)
        • Power -- AC adapter, 90 to 240 VAC in, 12 VDC out at 1.2 A
Gordon Flitton, I-O's VP of sales and marketing, commented that thin clients have been around since the 90's, but "we're seeing another surge of interest in them because they're smaller than when first introduced and they continue to be simple, economical, and more secure than PCs."

Pro|Edge thin clients running Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded are available now from the company's website with prices starting at $295. Linux models are described as "coming soon."
