In effect, DataViz says, RoadSync duplicates the functionality of the
Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) for Windows Mobile 5.0.
RoadSync product manager Ilya Eliashevsky stated, "As an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) we are able to react quickly and extend the reach of the new mobility features added to Exchange, making those enhancements available to devices already shipping in the market today. RoadSync for Windows Mobile 2003 makes the key SP2 features, such as Direct Push, available to the tens of thousands of Windows Mobile 2003 devices already in today's enterprises."
In addition to supporting devices running Windows Mobile 2003 SE, RoadSync supports devices running Symbian OS-based UIQ 2 and 3, S80, S60, Palm OS, and Java MIDP 2.0, according to the company.
DataViz also plans to offer a version of RoadSync for Windows Mobile 5.0. The company says that this support will build on the current wireless synchronization capabilities, while adding support for new Exchange 2007 productivity features such as email flagging, online mailbox search, support for linked SharePoint files, and more.
