(Click here for a larger view of the MWG Zinc II)The Zinc II comes with 64MB of RAM and 256MB of flash. If more storage is desired, it will accept microSD cards. It uses a Samsung SC32442 processor clocked at 500MHz.
Wide-area connectivity includes quad-band GSM (850, 900, 1800, and 1900MHz) and tri-band UMTS (850, 1900, and 2100MHz). MWG says GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, and HSDPA are all supported for data, with download speeds up to 3.6Mbps.
WiFI (802.11b/g) is provided for local area networking. The phone also includes Bluetooth, plus GPS functionality provided by the SiRF starIII chipset.
The device has a 2.8-inch touchscreen with 320 x 240 resolution, plus a 5-way directional pad. There is also a slide-out QWERTY-type keyboard with 35 keys. As usual for this type of device, the display switches to landscape mode when the keyboard is employed.

MWG did not provide pricing or availability information for the Zinc II, though it recently announced its entry into the U.S. market with another device, the
Atom Life. An online retailer, Mobile Planet, is accepting pre-orders for the Zinc II, pricing it at approximately $670 for U.S. customers.
