PocketDAQ Pro supports a variety of peripherals communicating over serial, infrared, and Bluetooth interfaces. Supported devices include barcode scanners, GPS receivers, sensors, scales, balances, RFID instruments, and other data loggers, according to Applied PDA.

        Touted features include:
        • Data logging (continuous or periodic)
        • Advanced filtering
        • Save configuration settings
        • Configurable date/time stamp
        • Collect data from multiple COM ports
According to Applied Data CEO Sebastian Dwornik, version 2.7 incorporates several new refinements, including the ability to relay incoming data to another device via TCP/IP. It also now supports serial ports on Psion Teklogix devices, and adds new options for configuring how data is written to files, he adds.

        Further information

PocketDAQ Pro costs approximately $35 and is now available for download from the company's website, here. A seven-day free trial is also available.

The software runs on Windows Mobile 2003/SE, 5.0, 6.0, or 6.1 devices with screen resolutions of 240 x 240 pixels or better. It supports Bluetooth, IrDA, and RS232 ports. The latter can be either built into a device, or added onto one via a Compact Flash adapter.
