(Click here for larger image)Pharos says the GPS 525 uses the "highly sensitive" SiRFstarIII GPS receiver for rapid time-to-first-fix and superior location performance, both indoors and out. The device is powered by a vehicle's cigarette lighter adapter but also has an internal, rechargeable Li-Ion battery that provides approximately four hours of unattached navigation.
In addition to a full set of navigation software, the device also includes a suite of PDA-style Windows Mobile applications.

The Ostia navigation software offers voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions and can navigate to locations in the Outlook contact database, according to Pharos. Maps can be displayed in three dimensional mapping perspective or 2-D overhead view. The unit's wireless capabilities support high speed map downloads and access to real-time traffic information, along with Internet access and free VoIP calls using Skype.
The Traveler GPS 525 is available now, price around $600.
