The Ameo runs Windows Mobile 5.0 on a 624 MHz Bulverde processor with an unspecified, but "generous," amount of RAM and an 8 GB disk. Wireless functions include HSDPA/UMTS, EDGE/GPRS, W-LAN, and a built-in GPS receiver. T-Mobile says the device automatically selects the most efficient mobile connections to corporate networks or the Web in "almost any location."

        Other touted featues include:
        • "large format" color touchscreen display
        • 3 Mpixel auto focus camera with flash
        • VGA and TV outputs
        • stereo speakers
The Ameo will be available in Germany and the Netherlands starting in March for around 500 Euros with a 24-month service contract, according to T-Mobile. The device appears to be offered with a choice of QWERTY or QWERTZ keyboards.
