Mobile Security Suite 3.5 offers "full-featured" security including authentication, encryption, integrity monitoring, firewall, logging, and central management with full OTA (Over-the-Air) capability for security policy management, according to Bluefire. The Mobile Security VPN 2.0 is a IPSec virtual private network client bundled with RSA's BSAFE Encryption, and compliant with Federal Information Processing Standards 140-2 (FIPS 140-2). It operates seamlessly across LAN, WLAN, GPRS/EDGE and 1xRTT/1EV-DO with no user intervention required.
Bluefire says the suite supports devices running Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0.
Bluefire is a member of the Cisco Technology Developer Program, which sets criteria for interoperability testing with Cisco networking technology. Information about products that meet the criteria are made available to Cisco's enterprise and service provider customers.
"As Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0 based handheld devices enter the market, Cisco networking customers can be confident in the integrity and security of their data with the use of Bluefire's VPN client software that has been verified by an independent third-party to be interoperable with the Cisco VPN 3000 concentrator," said Bluefire CEO Mark Komisky.
