The application incorporates pan and zoom functionality along with "text reflowing," said to make viewing content on a small screen a "pleasurable experience."
Picsel says that Proviewer is the first in a series of "Pro" applications that the company plans to offer to the smartphone and handheld device after-market.
Picsel's CEO Imran Khand stated, "Picsel's philosophy is rooted in delivering the most exciting, interactive customer experience to any mobile device. This rapid escalaction of customizing not just the mobile content itself, but also how it is accessed and received is the primary driver behind delivering Proviewer directly to consumers."
Proviewer appears to support a rather limited range of Windows Mobile devices, at the moment. According to Picsel's website, the Windows Mobile version currently only runs on HP iPAQ
hx2490 and hx2790 PDAs. For a "limited time," Proviewer is available from the
website for a discount price of $15. A free trial download is available
here. The application also supports a number of Palm and Symbian devices.
